Valentine’s season is a time for couples to spend a wonderful time together. Whether it be having a nice meal, or watching a movie, there are so many ways to celebrate a romantic day.

Another awesome way to enjoy Valentine’s day is to play video games together, creating some exciting and emotional moments that are a lot of fun. From sprawling MMOs, to wonderful co-op classics, here are the best games couples can play during Valentine’s day.

It Takes Two

It Takes Two is not only one of the best games of 2021, but it’s also one of the best co-op games of all time. When it comes to gameplay variety, It Takes Two offers so many different challenges for couples, from action-packed set pieces to clever puzzles.

The game also has one of the more heartfelt stories around, with a story about a married couple looking to fix their strained relationship. If you’re looking for a unique co-op experience, It Takes Two won’t disappoint.

Don’t Starve Together

The original Don’t Starve is one of the best survival games around, creating one of the more intense experiences in the genre, along with providing a unique art style.

However, one of the best ways to experience the game is through the co-op Don’t Starve Together. In this game, couples can find ways to survive in the wild, facing off many dangers, and finding the right resources to last as long as possible. It can be a tricky and very grind-y experience at first, but once you’re in the groove, it becomes a very engaging experience.

Final Fantasy XIV

MMOs are some of the best multiplayer experiences around, immersing players into a large player community, and a game world filled with a wide variety of quests to explore and job systems to try out.

One of the best MMORPGs around is Final Fantasy XIV, which has arguably become the best game in the series over the last decade. There’s just so much to do in FFXIV, from going into the massive list of quests to just exploring the game world freely. You can also fix up the interior of your own house, and even get married to another player! Surely a fun game for couples looking for a huge adventure.

Genshin Impact

Speaking of marriages, a couple had their proposal happen in Genshin Impact, a plan that took months of grinding just to get everything needed to make it happen. This little moment shows how much Genshin Impact means to so many players, even couples who play it together.

When it comes to gameplay, Genshin Impact has a very engaging loop of quests and domain challenges that keep players wanting more, with the reward of getting newer characters and weapons along the way. Add a huge map to explore and weekly/monthly events happening, and there’s something to enjoy even beyond Valentine’s season.

Left 4 Dead 2

Another all-time great co-op game, Left 4 Dead 2 is a fun FPS experience that provides a great number of scares. Set in a zombie apocalypse, you, your partner, and two other characters (or another couple for double dates) have to survive a series of levels, and escape the relentless hordes of zombies coming to get you.

While it may be one of the older games on the list, it remains one of the best multiplayer experiences around, and definitely something that couples can enjoy for hours on end.
