The 2022 Electronic Sports and Gaming Summit (ESGS), the country’s premier gaming convention, is happening on October 28-30 at the SMX Convention Center.
The first in-person ESGS event in two years is shaping up to become one of the biggest pop culture conventions of the year, with a whole host of tournaments, guests, and big-name exhibitors present on all three days.
With so much stuff to do and see, it can be tough to find a place to start. Luckily, we at the Geeky Juans got you covered! Here are some of the most exciting events happening in ESGS 2022.
Play Persona 5 Royal and Sonic Frontiers!
One of this year’s biggest exhibitors is Sega Asia, which is having quite the year with the release of Persona 5 Royal to PC and Nintendo Switch, and the upcoming launch of Sonic Frontiers.
The best part is that you get to play them at the Sega Asia booth, allowing you to experience one of the best RPGs in Persona 5, and get into the Sonic hype train.
Riot Games join ESGS 2022!
The developers of League of Legends and Valorant, Riot Games is the Platinum Exhibitor of ESGS 2022. You can expect their games to be featured in tournaments happening during the event, with their games being some of the biggest Esports in the country.
Apart from the games, cosplayers can join the Riot Games Cosplay Competition and win 50,000php worth of cash prizes (with the winner receiving 30,000php!). It’s awesome to see such a big name in gaming join the event, and we’re excited to give their exhibit a visit!
Esports Tournaments hit the stage!
Speaking of tournaments, ESGS will host a couple of tournaments on their stages during the weekend. This includes the MGA League of Legends Open Tournament Final, which provides us with some exciting League action.
There are also some smaller community tournaments that attendees can participate in. This includes the Rotobox Ultimate Typing Contest, where you can win a pretty cool pre-built keyboard!
If you want to fight your way to win some prizes, maybe the MSI Tekken All or Nothing Challenge might be a better choice. Get a winning streak and earn prizes based on how many players you can beat!
Genshin Impact at ESGS 2022
Another notable exhibitor in ESGS 2022 is Genshin Impact, which is arguably the biggest gacha game right now. With a host of huge updates (like the new Sumeru Map) and new characters (Yae Miko, Yelan, Cyno, and Nilou to name a few) introduced during the past year, Genshin continues to expand its lore, while providing one of the best open world experiences in a gacha game. Expect something cool in the Genshin booth during the ESGS weekend!
